Bienvenida en Viña (the welcome)

We arrived to the location where students will be taking their classes and doing their afternoon activities. The families were waiting and were very excited to meet their kids. Each student was introduced to their family followed by performances and introductions. It was a great way to dive right in and get a glimpse at Chilean culture.

The following day we woke up very early and headed to Tololo, one of the most famous observatories. The view was incredible. After a tour and some time with the amazing view, we went to a restaurant where the food is cooked with solar energy. We spent the afternoon in the town of Vicuña. Students had time to walk around before dinner. After dinner we headed to Mamalluca, another observatory where students were able to see starts, Jupiter and Saturn.
