We have arrived from our weekend excursion to the north. We left Friday morning and headed to La Serena where our hotel was located. After a 6 hour bus ride, we arrived at the hotel. After checking in, we spent the afternoon at the beach which was 2 blocks away. After a fun afternoon at the beach, we headed back to our hotel and each group cooked something for a great dinner to finish the day.
The following day we woke up very early and headed to Tololo, one of the most famous observatories. The view was incredible. After a tour and some time with the amazing view, we went to a restaurant where the food is cooked with solar energy. We spent the afternoon in the town of Vicuña. Students had time to walk around before dinner. After dinner we headed to Mamalluca, another observatory where students were able to see starts, Jupiter and Saturn. Because of the dark and not being allowed to use flash, we were not able to get pictures.
For our last day, we woke up and headed to a Japanese garden in La Serena. Students had some free time to walk around and explore. After the gardens, we headed to the main market in La Serena. Students had time to walk around and check the local crafts and have lunch. After lunch we started our drive back to Viña and when we arrived, parents picked up the students and headed back home.
