Dunes and more

As we prepare to finish our 4th week here, we had an amazing Thursday. We started with classes and lunch. We then visited "Parque Ecologico de Con Con". At the park students played games, did some bird watching, planted trees and enjoyed the beautiful view. After we finished at the park, we headed to the dunes, where students enjoyed a fun evening of sandboarding. We will be leaving for our weekend excursion tomorrow to La Serena and we are excited as our new adventure begins.

Bienvenida en Viña (the welcome)

We arrived to the location where students will be taking their classes and doing their afternoon activities. The families were waiting and were very excited to meet their kids. Each student was introduced to their family followed by performances and introductions. It was a great way to dive right in and get a glimpse at Chilean culture. Last week

During our last week, we had the going away party and show. Students read poems, danced, sang, acted and enjoyed time with family and friends. What a great way to finish these amazing 6 weeks.

After checking in, we spent the afternoon at the beach which was 2 blocks away. After a fun afternoon at the beach, we headed back to our hotel and each group cooked something for a great dinner to finish the day. The following day we woke up very early and headed to Tololo, one of the most famous observatories. The view was incredible. After a tour and some time with the amazing view, we went to a restaurant where the food is cooked with solar energy. We spent the afternoon in the town of Vicuña. Students had time to walk around before dinner. After dinner we headed to Mamalluca, another observatory where students were able to see starts, Jupiter and Saturn. Because of the dark and not being allowed to use flash, we were not able to get pictures. For our last day, we woke up and headed t...
